Croatia forward Ivan Klasnic will be out of action for a month after having his appendix removed.

“Klasnic, who started to feel pain before Werder Bremen’s Champions League game against Udinese, underwent surgery on Thursday and will not be available for four weeks,” Jutarnji List said.

Croatia have already qualified for the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany, although they have a friendly against Portugal in Coimbra on Nov. 12.

Croatia coach Zlatko Kranjcar was already without CSKA Moscow’s Ivica Olic meaning Bosko Balaban of Club Brugge and Rangers’ Dado Prso are the only fit forwards in his squad.
