Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert has today denied reports that he has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Premiership leaders Arsenal at the end of the season.
Despite scoring Barcelona’s only goal in their 1-0 win over Sevilla this weekend Kluivert is reported to be unsettled at the Nou Camp and has been widely tipped to depart this summer, with Arsenal favourites to capture his signature.
However the 27-year-old, insisted nothing has been signed or decided.
“Arsenal? What hurts me is that people can think that I have signed a pre-contract because it is not the truth,” said Kluivert.
Coach Frank Rijkard praised his striker’s performance amidst all the speculation.
“I am very happy for the player because it has been a very delicate week for him,” he said.
“One must congratulate him above all after the hard week that he has had.
“It was a very important goal for him and his team-mates.”
