Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt has told a number of Premiership clubs interested in signing him that he is staying in Holland for anotehr season.

Tottenham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Everton were all linked with Kuty but the striker, who scored 29 goals last season, has opted fpor another season with Feyenoord.

“I have taken my final decision. I’m staying at Feyenoord,” he confirmed.

“If a tremendous club comes in I’ll listen to it, but I’ll also say that it’s only for next season.”

Kuyt admitted that his impressive start to the season which has brought three goals already, played a part in his decision.

“It was an enormous shot in the arm for everyone that wishes Feyenoord well, and it did play a role,” he added.

“But the most important thing was that the time had come to make a call. I thought about what’s good for me and what isn’t and on Sunday I decided to stay at Feyenoord.

“I’ve never thought about forcing a break with Feyenoord.

“I’ll only leave Feyenoord when I have the permission of management. I don’t want to leave in unpleasant circumstances.”
