Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has signed a new five-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2013.

“We’ve signed my new contract today,” Lampard, whose previous deal was due to expire at the end of the 2008/09 season, told Chelsea TV on Wednesday.

The England international had one year left on his existing contract and was a target for Inter, who are managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

But Lampard has agreed a new deal, which could keep him at the club for the rest of his career. He has scored 71 goals in 247 appearances for the Blues.
