Lazio president Claudio Lotito has confirmed the club hope to sign Al-Sadd striker Mauro Zarate on a permanent deal.

Zarate is currently on loan at Stadio Olimpico and has impressed during the early stages of his career in Serie A, scoring six goals so far this season.

Reports in Italy suggest Lazio would have to pay Al-Sadd €12million to secure the 21-year-old Argentine’s services, and Lotito is confident of sealing a deal.

He told Rai TV: “I plan to sign him permanently. There are no problems.”
