West Ham and Wolves are fighting for their Premiership lives and the teams clash at Upton Park on Tuesday night (20:00)

Liverpool have accepted an offer of around £6m from CSKA Moscow for their midfielder Albert Riera and hope to conclude the sale by the end of this week.

The Spain international is frustrated by a lack of playing time at Anfield and is eager to move to Russia, where the transfer window remains open until April 8, to enhance his hopes of playing at this summer’s World Cup.

Last week Riera launched a withering assessment of Benítez, who he claimed held a personal grudge against him and had zero dialogue with players, and described Liverpool as a “sinking ship” .

The Guardian report that Benitez is now hoping to conclude a deal with CSKA Moscow for the unsettled 27-year-old, who joined Liverpool for £8 million from Espanyol in 2008.
