Liverpool have completed the signing of Ukraine striker Andriy Voronin.

The club announced in February that the former Bayer Leverkusen player would be moving to Anfield in the summer on a free transfer.

“He is a player with pace and good movement,” Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez told the club website.

“Andriy plays between defenders. He is a good worker and scores goals. He’s the kind of player that can give so much to us.”

Voronin, 27, began his career at the age of 15 with Borussia Moenchengladbach before moving on to Mainz and Cologne.

He was transfered to Leverkusen in 2004, where he scored 21 goals in 71 league games.

He has won 44 caps and has scored five goals for Ukraine.
