Miguel Angel Lotina, coach of Arsenal’s Champions League second round rivals Celta Vigo, has been given five days to save his job.

Celta dropped into the relegation zone of the Spanish league after their 5-0 derby Galician defeat at home to Deportivo de La Coruna on Saturday.

Fans demonstrated afterwards for the resignations of both Lotina and president Horacio Gomez.

An emergency board meeting today decided on a stay of execuction for Lotina, pending the outcome of the next two games – tomorrow’s Spanish cup tie in Malaga and Saturday’s league visit to Mallorca.
