England head to Kazakhstan this Saturday for a World Cup Qualifier knowing that the one and only time they met before the Three Lions won 5-1.

Lyon want to bolster their squad by signing Patrick Vieira and Alexander Hleb, in a bid to win back the French title, a club director has stated.

After relinquishing the title they won for seven consecutive seasons to Bordeaux this campaign, Les Gones are planning to a rebuilding exercise this summer.

Barcelona appear to be willing to let Hleb leave after he voiced his frustrations at not even being on the bench for the Champions League final against Manchester United in Rome.

“Hleb is a good player, we’ll see what we can do,” director Bernard Lacombe said on OL TV.

Vieira is also wanted by Lyon even though he has stated that he would prefer to stay at Inter and try to earn a regular place in Jose Mourinho’s team.

“The worry is his injuries,” Lacombe explained. “But he wants to play in the World Cup, so why not?”
