Bayern Munich have been handed a boost with the news that Roy Makaay has overcome his injury problems to be fit to face Rapid Vienna in their UEFA Champions League opener.

The Dutch international missed the weekend victory over Nurnberg with a knee injury and was a major doubt for the trip to Austria on Wednesday.

Makaay has proved his fitness to manager Felix Magath.

“After seeing him in training on Sunday, I’d say it’s 100 percent that he’ll play in Vienna,” said Magath.

Martin Demichelis is also available for Magath after recovering from an ankle problem.
