Manchester City face an anxious wait on the fitness of Robinho the forward was carried off the pitch during Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Colombia.
Robinho had to be helped from the field and as his country were held to a goalless draw at the Maracana Stadium. Brazil left the field being jeered by their own supporters.
The City forward, who joined the club for a British record £32.5million transfer fee in the summer transfer window, spoke to the local press after the game but did not mention his injury.
“The fans have a right (to boo),” he said. “I had an awful match. In fact, all the team played bad. But it is also true that the Colombians committed many fouls and did not allow us to play.”
