Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed Carlos Tevez will be back for Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.

Tevez has missed City’s last three games after returning to Argentina on compassionate leave.

“I spoke with Carlos on Monday, and he will be back on Thursday or Friday morning,” said Mancini.

“We want him back for Chelsea on Saturday, and he told me that he has been training every day while he has been back in Argentina.

“He has had a serious problem with his family, but I think that has been resolved and he told me yesterday that he will be able to get a flight back here later this week.”

Mancini also played down talk of growing unrest in the City dressing room at his coaching methods.

Reports have suggested a number of senior City players are unhappy with Mancini’s training regime and in particular the onus placed on physical workouts.

“For me it is no problem,” added Mancini. “I read some newspapers, but for me everything is normal.”
