Fulham striker Steve Marlet is poised to complete a move to German side Wolfsburg.

The 31-year-old is expected to leave on a free transfer, four years after Fulham spent £11.5m buying him from Auxerre.

He spent the last two seasons on loan at Marseille after falling out of favour following the departure of former Fulham manager Jean Tigana.

Marlet returned to Fulham after his loan spell at Marseille but was left out of the squad for the pre-season tour of the United States.

He told L’Equipe newspaper earlier this month: “I have one year remaining on my contract and I will not sit by and let it pass. I hope all will be finished in the next week.”
