Milan could be put off bidding for Alberto Gilardino, by Parma’s asking price for their highly rated striker.

Milan were hoping to sign Gilardion this week, but they have been taken aback by Parma’s valuation of the striker.

“Gilardino wants to come to Milan and we want him here, but there is a great difference between bid and offer,” Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said Wednesday.

Gilardino, whose goal in the Serie A relegation play-off against Bologna helped Parma stay up, was the second highest scorer in Serie A last season with 23 goals.
