Milan have denied reports claiming coach Carlo Ancelotti could head to Real Madrid next summer.

According to speculation in the Italian media, Real view Ancelotti as a potential replacement for Wanderley Luxemburgo who has yet to convince at the Bernabeu.

Ancelotti, himself, is under some pressure at San Siro after failing to win a trophy last season, but he retains the backing of the club’s board.

“Ancelotti has a contract until 2007 and he will respect it,” commented Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

“Bronzetti has been a friend of mine for the last 20 years.

“I have nothing against him but if we have been able to resist offers for [Andrei] Shevchenko, we will also resist in this case.”
