Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has apologised to Cristiano Ronaldo for criticising his upbringing.
Mourinho described Manchester United winger Ronaldo as ‘ill-educated, disrespectful and immature’ last month.
Mourinho’s attack infuriated United manager Sir Alex Ferguson who defended Ronaldo.
Ahead of Wednesday’s meeting between the two sides Ronaldo has revealed Mourinho has apologised for his comments.
“Mourinho has apologised to me and now I have no problem with him,” Ronaldo told the Daily Mirror.
“I am pleased that this has happened. As far as I am concerned, the whole thing is now in the past.”
