Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed he is interested in signing Real Madrid full-back Roberto Carlos.
The Brazilian international recently revealed that he had been offered a two-year deal by the Premiership champions.
In an interview with Portuguese television station TVI, Mourinho confirmed that the player was a target.
“Roberto Carlos is 33 but for me he continues to be the best player in his position,” Mourinho said. “We will have to be patient and wait to see what happens.”
Roberto Carlos is under contract with Madrid for one further season but he has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu.
