TSV 1860 Munich have become the latest Bundesliga club to sack their coach.

Austrian Peter Pacult has been replaced by former Hertha Berlin boss Falko Gotz – who stood in at Hertha last season after the midterm dismissal of Jurgen Rober.

Pacult took over at 1860 in October 2001 from Werner Lorant, previously he had been assistant and youth coach at the 1965 Cup-winners Cup runners-up.

On another issue, 1860 president Karl-Heinz Wildmoser has tried to damped speculation of an Arsenal interest in goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch.

Wildmoser said: “We want to keep all our best players and we have offered Simon a contract extension which would hold him here until 2006. Obviously, until it is signed and sealed anything can happen but I am confident he will stay.”

Jentzsch’s mother is English and his goalkeeping hero was former England star Peter Shilton.

At the moment Jentzsch is out injured for a month after damaging a shoulder in last weekend’s 6-0 thrashing to Hertha.
