Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved has ended speculation he is about to retire from international football.

“My knee injury from Euro 2004 is so serious it prevents me from playing both for the Czech Republic and Juventus at the moment but I’ve never said I will retire from the international game,” said Nedved.

Nedved was injured in the Euro 2004 semi-final defeat to eventual champions Greece and he was criticised in some quarters for not appearing for his country during last week’s 2-0 defeat to Holland.
