Newcastle have received a setback with the news that Alberto Luque has been ruled out for at least two months with a hamstring problem.
Luque was stretchered off with the injury in the first half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham at St James’ Park.
A scan carried out on Monday revealed the damage was worse than initially feared and he could be out for up to 10 weeks.
Luque signed for Newcastle just before the transfer window closed at the end of Ausgust in a £9.5m deal from Deportivo La Coruna.
