The international careers of Diego Simeone and Gabriel Batistuta look to be over after they were omitted from Argentina’s squad to face Holland in a friendly next month
Argentina’s leading scorer Batistuta announced his international retirement last year but reports since, suggested the 33-year-old striker had reconsidered the decision. Simeone meanwhile, who has won over 100 caps, may well have reached the end of the road of his international career.
Bielsa included three uncapped players in his squad – Deportivo Coruna defender Lionel Scaloni,Atletico Madrid defender Fabricio Coloccini and Nantes midfielder Mauro Cetto.
Striker Hernan Crespo and midfielder Matias Almeyda were unavailable due to injury.
