England received a boost ahead of the quarter-final clash with Brazil with the return to training of injury concerns Michael Owen and Paul Scholes.

The Liverpool star has been undergoingintensive treatment on a groin injury picked up during Enland’s 3-0 win over Denmark and his fitness has been the subject of much speculation in recent days.

Scholes meanwhile has been suffering with a minor foot problem, but is expecte dto be declared fit to face the Brazilians.

Further good news for England comes with the weather forecast for Shizuoka. There has been torrential rain in the city over the last week and the inclement conditions are not expectedto improve over the next 24 hours.
