Palermo defender Moris Carrozzieri has tested positive for cocaine, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) has confirmed.

Tests after Palermo’s 1-0 home win over Torino on April 5 revealed the presence of Benzoylecgonine, the primary metabolite of cocaine, CONI said on its website (www.coni.it).

The 28-year-old centre back is likely to face a lengthy suspension as cocaine is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s list of banned stimulants.
