Palermo have sacked coach Stefano Colantuono following Sunday’s 5-0 defeat at Juventus and reappointed his predecessor Francesco Guidolin.

“Colantuono dismissed, Guidolin returns,” the Serie A club announced on their web site.

Palermo are eighth in Serie A, but they have only won one of their last eight games.

It will be Guidolin’s fourth spell in charge of the club. The former Monaco boss was in charge until April, when he was sacked after a poor run of results only to be brought back for the final two matces of the campaign.

Colantuono was appointed in June after inspiring Atalanta to an eighth-place finish in Serie A.
