Parma have appointed Domenico Di Carlo as successor to Claudio Ranieri.

The Gialloblu were on the lookout for a new manager following Ranieri’s departure to coach Juventus.

Di Carlo has signed an initial one-year deal with Parma, although they have the option of a second term depending on performances.

Di Carlo has never coached in Italy’s top flight before, but has done an impressive job in the four seasons at Mantova, taking them from the fourth division Serie C2 to Serie B before twice narrowly missing promotion to Serie A.
