Villarreal vice-president Jose Manuel Llaneza has given his backing to manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The Chliean coach has come under pressure after failing to emulate last season’s achievements when the club reached the last four of the Champions League.
Llaneza, though, believes Pellegrini is still the man for the job.
“The coach has our total confidence and we have never wavered, even in the worst moments of the season,” said Llaneza.
“We are already working for the next campaign with a new project and Pellegrini is the boss.
“Always we continue to help him because we are convinced of his quality. Our objective is to return Villarreal to the European stage.”
