Former France international Emmanuel Petit, says he will not be at Stamford Bridge next season and is unhappy with the way Roman Abramovich is running the club.

“I know I won’t be with Chelsea next season. They don’t want to keep me and I don’t want to stay,” the 33-year-old midfielder told France Football.

Petit’s season ended prematurely through injury and his playing days at Chelsea are clearly over. However, the midfielder admits he is unhappy at the direction in which the club is heading.

“The club is following a path to which I cannot identify,” he added.

“Money can’t buy success and a team spirit must be built on sound foundations.”

Petit also expressed sympathy for beleaguered coach Cladioo Ranieri – widely expected to be fired at the end of the season.

“Ranieri is being blamed for all the problems in the world and I have a lot of respect and sympathy for him,’ Petit added.

“If you honestly look at his record, you will see it is the best,” he said.
