Jesualdo Ferreira has been appointed manager of champions Porto just 48 hours after resigning his job as coach of city rivals Boavista.

The former Benfica coach signed a two-year contract with Boavista in May after spending three years with Sporting Braga, but following the resignation of Co Adriaanse at Porto, he became the firm favourite to take on the Porto hot seat.

Ferreira, 60, becomes the sixth Porto coach since Jose Mourinho departed for Chelsea following the UEFA Champions League success in 2004.
