According to reports in the Portuguese press, Porto are reluctant to play Sunday’s league fixture at Benfica, because they believe their players are at risk from crowd trouble.

Porto officials said they were concerned that fans had managed to evade security officers at the Luz stadium in Lisbon and run onto the field, daily sports newspaper A Bola reported.

“I won’t go,” Secretary of State of Sports Herminio Loureiro, was quoted as saying in a headline in daily newspaper O Jogo.

Herminio told SIC TV News that he had not rruled out the possibility of postponing the match.
