Champions Chelsea take on title challengers Arsenal in the Premiership game of weekend at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho is likely to start Didier Drogba after his match winning performance in the Community Shield earlier this month. The Blues will be hoping to end a 19 match winless run against the North London side.

Chelsea are likely to field the same personnel that narrowly defeated Wigan last Sunday. Ricardo Carvalho will be on the bench once again following his falling out with Mourinho whilst new £24 million signing Michael Essien may feature at some stage.

Arsene Wenger will be taking charge of the Gunners for the 500th time and will hope to maintain their unbeaten run of 34 London derbies in the league. Thierry Henry will captain the side who will be without the injured Sol Campbell with Robin Van Persie likely to be on the bench despite scoring the second goal in the 2-0 win against Newcastle last Sunday.

Manchester United will take on Aston Villa at Old Trafford in the early kick-off on Saturday. The Red Devils will be hoping to win a second successive lunchtime kick off after last week’s impressive 2-0 away win at Everton. United have been beaten only once in 20 games at Old Trafford and remain unbeaten in 19 games against Villa.

Aston Villa will be hoping to win their first away fixture of the season for the first time since 1999 but have yet to win at the Theatre of Dreams in the Premiership. The Midlanders are without Lee Hendrie who begins a three-match ban and Mark Delaney who is ruled out for a month.

Liverpool should name the same side that collected a point away to Middlesbrough for the visit of Sunderland to Anfield. The Black Cats have not recorded a win in the Premiership in 21 games.

Newcastle will be missing Kieron Dyer, Belozoglu Emre, Titus Bramble and the suspended Shola Ameobi as West Ham United visit St. James Park on Saturday. The Magpies have suffered three successive defeats in the league and Intertoto cup.

West Ham will be buoyed by the 3-1 home win on their return to the top flight, against Blackburn. The Claret and Blues are set to name an unchanged side.

Bolton are looking for a third straight home win over visitors Everton on Saturday at the Reebok Stadium. Wanderers could include Stelios Giannakopolous in the starting line-up for the first time since Manchester City bid for the Greek international. Jay-Jay Okocha is also set to be included but new loan signing Hidetoshi Nakata is set to miss out.

James Beattie joins long-term injury victims Lee Carsley and Gary Naysmith on the sidelines as the Toffees look to gain their first points of the new season.

Tottenham could welcome back Edgar Davids as they host Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane. The Dutch international may make his debut after missing last week’s win over Portsmouth. Spurs are without the injured Wayne Routledge, Ledley King, Noe Pamarot, Sean Davis and Michael Brown. Middlesbrough have a defensive crisis with Ugo Ehiogu suspended and Chris Riggott, Stuart Parnaby and Tony McMahon out injured and Emanuel Pogatetz yet to receive clearance to play.

Charlton will be without the suspended Darren Ambrose and Gonzalo Sorondo for the visit of Wigan to The Valley. Matt Holland will be given a late fitness test. Wigan will be without Henri Camara who picked up a foot injury in Senegal’s friendly game against Ghana. Midfield duo Graham Kavanagh and Lee McCulloch are out.

Birmingham City will give a fitness test to Emile Heskey for the clash against Manchester City at St Andrews. The Blues are set to name an unchanged side from the team which drew against Fulham on Saturday’s as Damien Johnson is banned and Mehdi Nafti is set to miss the whole season with a knee injury.

Richard Dunne is set to return for Manchester City after a foot injury. Sylvain Distin is still ruled out with a groin injury. David James will start in goal despite his poor showing in midweek for England. Manager Stuart Pearce has lost only one of the last 10 games since making his appointment permanent.

Blackburn may face Fulham at Ewood Park without any strikers if Craig Bellamy fails a fitness test. Paul Dickov is suspended for the clash with Matt Jansen unlikely to figure after his leg injury.

Fulham recall Papa Bouba Diop after recovering from injury with Niclas and Claus Jensen expected to travel following their displays for Denmark in midweek. Fulham are looking for a third successive away victory at Ewood Park.
