Newcastle United’s failure to qualify for last season’s Champions League, has contributed to a drop in profits for for the year ending 31 July.

The club have announced that their operating profit fell from £11.6m to £8.3m for the year.

Group turnover fell £6.2m to £90.2m after the team, with an £8m drop in TV revenue to £33.7m.

However, match revenue increased by 4% to £33.9m, mainly due to an extra match played at St James’ Park.
