New Southampton manager Harry Redknapp has signed his former Portsmouth midfielder Nigel Quashie for £2.1m.
Quashie, who cost Portsmouth £600,000 in 2000, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal on Monday.
The 26-year-old is be cup-tied and will miss out on the eagerly-awaited FA Cup tie between the Saints and Portsmouth on January 29.
Quashie is Redknapp’s third signing since he arrived at St Mary’s, following in the footsteps of Jamie Redknapp and Calum Davenport.
