Racing Santander have been fined by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) after some of their fans rcially abused Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o.

The RFEF refused to reveal the size of the fine, but Spanish media estimated that it was likely to be in the region of €6,000.

Referee Antonio Rubinos Perez asked the club to make an announcement over the public address system calling for the fans to show respect towards the players.

In February the Barca striker tried to leave the pitch after being racially abused by Real Zaragoza fans.

Zaragoza were fined €9,000 as a result of the incident.
