Rapid Vienna have named Pasching’s Georg Zellhofer as coach from January, replacing Josef Hickersberger who has stepped down to take over Austria’s national team.
Zellhofer has been at Pasching for the past nine years, guiding them from a minor regional league into the UEFA Cup. Pasching are currently second in the championship while Rapid lie fourth.
“I’m convinced Georg Zellhofer … will fit very well with our team,” said Rapid president Rudi Edlinger in a statement.
Zellhofer’s contract with Rapid runs through June 2008.
