Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has dismissed reports that the club want to sign Samuel Eto’o.
Calderon was asked about the latest rumours but he was quick to dampen the speculation.
“There is no Eto’o case,” Calderon told Marca. “I do not know where this has come from because more than anything, it is logical, that Barcelona would not sell a player to Real Madrid.
“We have a very strong squad that has just won the league. If we do end up signing players, there will be very few and they will be very good.”
Calderon also acknowledged that the attempt by Madrid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo was now out of his hands.
“We have nothing to say on this theme. We are just spectators, a passive observe in the matter,” added Calderon.
