Real Sociedad have appointed Gonzalo Arconada as their new coach, replacing Jose Maria Amorrortu who was sacked on Monday.
44-year-old Arconada, who had been acting as the club’s youth coach, has been placed in charge until the end of the season.
“The team were not meeting the standards everyone expects,” Arconada told a press conference.
“They have shown glimpses of what they can do, but the first thing we must achieve is to win over the fans again.
“It is important that we remain calm so that we can start to move forward positively.”
