Tottenham striker Sergei Rebrov looks set for a move to Fulham with the player due to meet Cottagers boss Jean Tigana to discuss terms.

The clubs have agreed a cut-price £1m fee for the out-of-favour Ukrainian – a deal that represents a significant loss on the £11m Spurs paid for the striker in 2000.

Rebrov’s agent Sandor Vargatold the Press Association: ‘Sergei’s having talks with Tigana this morning about everything to do with the deal. Then we’ll see what the situation is.’

The deal would suit both parties. Fulham, despite lavish expenditure in the last two years, arestruggling to score, while Rebrov is desperate to play football again after being frozen out at White Hart Lane since the appointment of Glenn Hoddle as manager.

Rebrov had been linked with a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce, but the 28-year-old striker expressed a preference for remaining in England.
