Turkish club Galatasaray have completed the signing of Israeli international midfielder Haim Revivo from arch-rivals Fenrbahce.

The move appears to signal the end of the clubs’ long-standing gentlemen’s agreement not to poach each other’s players. Revivo quit Fenerbahce lastweek, frustrated at his fringe status at the club since the arrival of Argentinian Ariel Ortega in the summer.

‘After becoming league champions this year we aim to be Champions League winners next season. We will continue to strengthen our squad,’ Galatasaray club spokesman Ali Durust confirmed.

Galatasaray have also signed Suat Usta from PSV Eindhoven, as well as Ali Lukunku from Standard Liege.

Galatasaray are second Turkish super league, two points behind Besiktas, who are on 41 points with a game in hand. Fenerbahce lie fourth a further four points behind.
