Arjen Robben’s father has denied claims that the winger has been offered a new contract by Chelsea.
Hans Robben, who acts as his son’s agent, says the 23-year-old is still contemplating leaving Chelsea and joining Real Madrid.
“It’s been reported Arjen was offered £90,000 a week. If that was the case, maybe he would have signed,” Hans Robben told the Daily Star.
“In fact, the new contract wasn’t really new. It was no good, so we turned it down.”
Real have made no secret of their desire to sign Robben but the two clubs have been unable to agree a fee.
Hans Robben said: “Maybe he’ll go to Madrid or maybe he’ll stay and serve out his current two-year contract.”
