Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben would welcome the signing of Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

Drogba’s future at Stamford Bridge remains the source of much speculation after he publicly expressed a desire to leave the club in an interview with France Football magazine earlier this season.

Real boss Bernd Schuster has previously expressed his admiration for Drogba, and former Chelsea midfielder Robben is another fan of the Ivory Coast striker.

“For me, he is a great striker, one of the best in the world,” Robben told Sky Sports News.

“He is unbelievably strong. He can score a lot of goals. Last season, when I was at Chelsea, he was probably the most important player at the club.

“He is not only a good footballer, he is a great person. I would really like it if he came here, but it is not up to me to decide.

“We also have a lot of great players here, so we will see what happens.”
