Newcastle United winger Laurent Robert believes he is a target for several Premiership teams.

Robert been used as a substitute in recent matches and he was criticised earlier this month by his manager Graeme Souness for his workrate.

Several clubs have been linked with the Frenchman with Barcelona, Deportivo La Coruna, Valencia and Marseille, but Robert is keen to stay in England.

“If nothing changes, I seriously think to talk about my case with the officials,” Robert told France Football.

“I want to talk with them to take a true decision.

“I want to know if they still rely on me.

“Indeed, I have contacts. The clubs are not stupid! They can see I don’t play a lot but, when I play, I am good.

“People talked about Valencia, but there are other clubs that follow me in that country.

“In England, I also have contact with top clubs.

“I still favour England. I feel at ease in that league.

“A comeback to Le Championnat is not impossible even if it is not my priority.

“My wages are not a problem.

“I can also be loaned out, at least until the end of the season.”
