Robinho will travel with his Manchester City team-mates for Saturday’s clash with Liverpool, even though the £32.5m striker is unlikely to start the game.

The Brazilian joined up with the Brazil national side for their victory over England in Qatar last Saturday but did not play.

Robinho has been restricted to three appearances for Mark Hughes’ side this season and has not played since injuring his ankle whilst on international duty in September.

Hughes has confirmed that Robinho will join the rest of the squad for the trip to Merseyside.

“He is back training with the group, which is pleasing from everyone’s point of view,” said Hughes.

“He is travelling with us and we will make a decision tomorrow.

“It could be a bit early for him to be involved, but certainly he will be in the frame for next week’s game against Hull.”
