Uruguayan World Cup defender Dario Rodriguez has signed a four-year contract to play in Germany with Schalke.
Rodriguez, 27, will cost the Bundesliga outfit €4million.
He marked his World Cup campaign with spectacular long-range goal in Uruguay’s opening defeat by group rivals Denmark.
Elsewhhere in Germany, former Bayern Munich midfielder Stefan Effenberg has rejected as offer to join FK Austria.
Effenberg, 34, is out of contract after leaving Bayern Munich during the summer.
