Roma defender Philippe Mexes has been banned for three games and midfielder Simone Perotta fined after the club’s 2-1 defeat at Brescia.

Mexes gave away a penalty in the 65th minute, but he and his Roma teammates were convinced the incident occurred outside the penalty area. The French defender was booked for the initial foul and then given a second yellow card for his protests.

Perrotta was fined €5,000 for punching the door to the referee’s changing room after the match, while Roma management members Gian Paolo Montali and Daniele Prade have been banned until the end of the month for insulting the referee after the game.
