Ronaldinho has insisted that he he has no plans to quit Barcelona, after reports in Italy claimed Milan were preparing a bid to take him to Serie A.

The Brazilian playmaker admitted to being flattered by the interest being shown in him, although he said he had no intention of leaving Camp Nou.

“FC Barcelona is the perfect place for me and nothing has changed,” Ronaldinho said. “I am extremely happy here and I am not thinking about anything other than playing for this club.

“I am completely relaxed. I do not know if there has been any contact with my brother (who doubles as his agent), but it is always nice to know that big clubs with great fans are after you and admire your work.

“These things motivate me to work even harder.”

“We had a strong team and now we have made it even stronger,” he said, reflecting on the signings of Eidur Gudjohnsen, Lilian Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta.

“What happened with Brazil at the World Cup made me sad, but that is now in the past and I am looking forward to a great season at Barcelona.”
