Barcelona forward Ronaldinho will miss the rest of the season after tearing a muscle in his right leg during training.

In a statement, Barcelona said that the Brazilian had injured himself during an “accident” in training on Thursday and scans on Friday revealed muscle damage that will sideline him for six weeks.

Ronaldinho has been troubled by injury all season and had missed Barcelona’s last four matches, only returning to training on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, Italian newspapaer Gazzetta published photos of a meeting between Ronaldinho’s brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, and Milan director Adriano Galliani, fuelling speculation of a summer move for Ronaldinho to the Serie A club.

However, the pair are more likely to have discussing the future of asnother of de Assis’s clients, Ricardo Oliveira, who currently on loan at Zaragoza but whose contract is held by Milan.
