Barcelona vice-president Ferran Soriano has confirmed that he expects Ronaldinho’s long-term future to be at Camp Nou.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Milan in the summer, but Soriano recently claimed those rumours were a ‘joke’.

“We want to continue as we are with Ronaldinho until the end of the season,” he told COM Radio.

“Our intention is to hold a meeting to negotiate a new deal until 2014. I am optimistic and believe the player is happy at Barcelona, which has been an important question recently. There are no problems between us.”

Soriano is also adamant that Deco and Lionel Messi would be staying at Barca.

Portugal midfielder Deco, 29, admitted recently that he fancied a move to an English club, while Messi has been the subject of interest from Internazionale.

However, Soriano has dismissed reports they will leave as they remain an important part of the club’s plans.

“That is not true,” he said. “Those players are necessary for us for next season.”
