Real Madrid striker Ronaldo admits he is feeling unhappy at being left on the sidelines by his coach Fabio Capello.

However the Brazilian forward intends to fight for his place in Capello’s starting line-up.

“I can’t be happy because what makes me happy – playing football – is missing from my life,” he told ABC.

Since Capello’s arrival the Ronaldo has had to settle for a place on the bench with the Italian opting to start with summer signing Ruud van Nistelrooy.

“The worst thing is not to have the trust of the coach, and to not know how to regain it,” Ronaldo aded.

“But I’m a fighter, and I’m going to fight my way back into the starting line-up.”

Ronaldo’s deal expires in 2008 and he hopes to honour that contract before “playing two more years in the United States or Brazil” and retiring at the age of 35.
