Ronaldo is determined to prove Pele wrong after the Brazilian legend said the Milan striker may not fully recover from his latest knee injury.
The Milan striker ruptured tendons in his left knee in a recent game with Livorno and is set to be out of action for several months while he recuperates from surgery.
Pele stated last week that it would be ‘difficult’ for him to recover and find his best form again.
“I’m actually glad he said that,” Ronaldo told Radio Globo on Sunday.
“We all know Pele is known for making wrong predictions about everything. It usually happens the opposite of what he says.”
Ronaldo insisted that he was not upset with Pele, adding: “I know he is an idol and is asked about all subjects.
“Sometimes that puts him in difficult situations.”
