Ronaldo has advised team-mate Luis Figo to stop moaning to the media over his recent demotion to the substitutes bench.

Figo has been dropped for Real’s last two games with Michael Owen appearing in his place in a new-look 4-3-3 line-up.

Figo was critical of the way the club handled the issue and he admits he will reconsider his future at the club if he continues to be overlooked.

However, Ronaldo has urged Figo to prove his worth on the pitch rather than via the press.

“I was in the same situation and my experience was that you don’t win your place back by talking,” the Brazilian stated.

“You have to demonstrate your worth and that you still have a place in the side.

“Even then it is a delicate situation in which you have to remain calm and think about the best thing for the team.

“You have to be at the coach’s disposal.”
